* Didnt start day 1 until 9pm, got first one wrong! Tired towards the end and got a few more wrong. Wont be home until 9pm again for day 2 - starting to realise what I might have gotten myself into.
* Didnt start day 2 until 10pm, but got 23/25 anyway.
* Day 3: 20/25, day 4: 23/25, day 5: 23/25
* Chess club night tonight, so day 6 is tomorrow
* Lost club game to a tactical blow ... oh the irony!
* Day 6: 23/25. First set of 125 is due today, a wednesday - so schedule is not quite right, sat/sun would have been better!
* Day 7: first group of 125 successfully navigated, 120/125 correct
* Day 8: 24/25, day 9: 25/25 :), day 10: 20/25, day 11: 23/25
* Won my weekend game by means of a strong tactical knockout punch :) Beat a strong junior, which was satisfying.
* Drew my club night game after "seeing" a tactical combination that didnt exist, and not seeing that there was one escape square left...
* Day 12: 21/25, day 13: 22/25, day 14: 118/125, day 15: 23/25, day 16: 23/25
* Drew my club night game after making the wrong move in a winning position :(
* Day 17: 24/25, day 18: 25/25 :), day 19: 122/125, day 20: 23/25, day 21: 25/25 :), day 22: 23/25, day 23: 24/25
* First circle finally complete, with a 91% success rate :) Circle 2 will be completed tonight.
* Second circle completed, with a 96% success rate :) Circle 3 starts tomorrow.
* Day 24: first day of circle 3 and it was pretty hard going, 154/166
* Day 25: 158/166 and much easier than the previous day
* Day 26: First set of 250, with 243 correct, luckily it was a sunday!
* Day 27: 163/168, circle 3 complete with a 95% success rate :)
* Day 28: 240/250 correct, circle 4 complete with a 96.6% success rate :)
* Hmm looks like I will finish one day early, something not quite right.. maybe I missed recording one of the days, will try to figure it out. Circle 5 is due, and I'm taking the day off work tomorrow (friday) so that I can do circle 5 and all my other preparation for the tourney.
* The End! Circle 5 complete, 485/500 correct, 97%. Now I'm just tired ...

Thanks :) By doing this tactics training via a blog, I've managed to keep going, when otherwise I may have lost interest ;) 11 straight days without a break and counting .. its probably my longest sustained chess training period ever

Hey, welcome to the group. Sorry I've not been in touch, but I've been away, and it looks like several new people have arrived.

I'd have to say that blogging is the only way to go if you are going to undertake the many circles. I know it helped me. It keeps you honest. There were many times during the training where I wanted to throw the towel in and having an outlet to share your frustrations is key.

Anyway, welcome again.
